  • Musicright asserts claims of all affected rights holders. These are mainly music authors (composers and songwriters), publishers, performing artists, producers and music labels (producers of sound recordings). In addition, Musicright also works with all other members of the music industry who wish to use a commercial debt collection service for the payment claims to which they are entitled.

  • The claims assigned to Musicright are mainly license fees for the use of music, especially on the internet. The collection extends both to claims arising from the use of music for which no or insufficient license was acquired, as well as to payment claims of the rights holders against defaulting licensees.

  • Musicright identifies previously unknown music uses to enable rights holders to monetize them. Unauthorized music use is documented in a legally binding manner and the user is presented with a subsequent licensing offer. If subsequent licensing fails, the remuneration due to the rights holder is collected out of court as compensation as part of commercial debt collection. If the out-of-court assertion remains unsuccessful, the claims assigned to Musicright will be enforced in court by engaging a lawyer in contentious court proceedings.

  • All legal costs (attorney and court costs) are borne by Musicright. Musicright only receives a share of the compensation collected as a commission if Musicright can successfully resolve the case. Rights holders therefore bear no financial risk.
